Are the ground exams difficult?

No, but you will have to do some studying. Directed self study, together with ground tuition from your instructor is normally sufficient, although additional one-to-one instruction is available if required.

How long will it take?
|

This depends entirely on your personal ability, commitment and budget. In order to meet your requirements, we provide anything from a five week full time course, to a more leisurely training programme lasting up to a year or more. All training is individually tailored.

Is the medical demanding?
|
|
Providing you are in good general health the medical should not be a problem. However, it does have to be conducted by a CAA authorised medical examiner. We can provide details of local examiners.

How do I keep my licence valid?
|
|
You will have to renew your licence after five years. You will also have to keep your helicopter 'type rating' valid. This will require you to carry out a proficiency test each year and to fly a minimum of two hours on each type of aircraft on which you hold a rating. Your test can count towards this time.

Do I have to commit myself to a course?
|
|
You don't have to commit to a complete course with a particular flying school but you must embark on training with a view to gaining a licence.
